The Student Success Coach Office employs a holistic approach to student advisement and views each student as the individuals that they are. Success Coaches emphasize the importance of building personal relationships with their students in order to effectively address both academic and non-academic factors that may be impacting their achievement. Coaching sessions and programming encompass all aspects of students’ lives, including: academic, personal, social, and career.

Scarlet Scholar Requirements

As a participating Scarlet Scholar, students are expected to:

  • Attend at least 2 coaching meetings each month
  • Attend a minimum of 2 Scarlet Scholar workshops and 1 campus-sponsored event each month
  • Be open to discussing challenges and sharing successes that occur in and out of school
  • Communicate directly and honestly regarding needs and goals
  • Learn the importance of personal growth through feedback
